If you choose a route in Apple Maps it shows you traffic on your route and as you are driving you will see it too. Now with both iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 you can see the traffic before you head off, you don't have to choose a route, this allows you to have a look around. It is interesting to look at cities and see what traffic is going on there. Here I choose New York, during their day there is usually traffic so you can check it out. Although you could do multitasking on the iPad it is now much easier in iPadOS 15. Previously you had to slide apps into the right position and that could be fiddly sometimes. Now it is made simple by have some icons you can click on and I think it works a lot better. If you are like me I use the Live Photo feature on my iPhone and iPad. If you have used it too you know it records a few seconds of video and then displays a default picture. But what if that is not the photo you want displayed? Sure you can tap and hold to see the whole sequence but you might just want the displayed photo to be one you choose. Did you know you can hide photos on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. You might have something personal or perhaps you want to keep something secret, maybe it is photos of some passwords or a gift idea and you want to make sure no one else sees it. Thankfully you can save it to a hidden album. You can then hide the hidden album. You then need a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID to open the album. This works a bit differently on iOS 15 and iOS 16 so I show you how it works on both here. The iPhone is clever in that when you travel to a different timezone it can update the times in your calendar to reflect the new timezone. This means something you entered in your calendar, although it is correct can look wrong to you. So if I enter something at 12pm and then travel to somewhere that is 5 hours behind my original timezone then the item in the calendar could change to 5 hours earlier and look confusing. Here is how you can stop that from happening using the Timezone override setting.

Have you done any editing in the photo app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac then you might have noticed a setting called brilliance. Now I use Lightroom for a lot of my photographic processing but there isn't an option there for brilliance, so I wondered what it did. We have these incredible devices we carry around in our pockets, it's a portable photo studio that has a camera and editing software. In my case it is an iPhone and after I have taken a photo I want to edit it. I can do this easily using the built-in photo app on my iPhone, iPad or Mac. And like a lot of other software such as Adobe Lightroom it is non-destructive. What does that mean? Well if you make changes to the photo it does not change the original and you can always go back to that original. Even if you crop it. In this video I talk about a setting that I don't have in Lightroom so I have done a video all about that, although I touch on it in this video.
